Within the UK you can ask your GP to refer your child or yourself to the local NHS autism spectrum disorder (ASD) / ADHD pathway. If you prefer to seek a private assessment check that the service uses professional standardised assessments such as the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI-R).
