Dr Rankin and a member of the team will conduct the assessment. This either involves a clinic appointment or Dr Rankin observing your child in a classroom environment and interviewing teachers and support staff regarding your child’s educational needs and provision. Dr Rankin will also conduct an individual assessment whenever possible. This will include the administration of a range of neuropsychological measures (paper and pencil tests or computer tests) to assess the cognitive strengths and weaknesses of your child. Some children are anxious about individual assessments and we are experienced at reducing any potential anxiety and making a child feel at ease.
Dr Rankin will also conduct an interview with yourself to find out more about your child and family functioning. Preferably this will be be in person but if you prefer an on-line interview this can be arranged at a time convenient for you. The overall aim of the assessment is to provide the court with an objective opinion regarding your child’s psychological diagnosis and future prognosis.
Clinic appointments are based at 88 Rodney Street, Liverpool or 10 Harley Street, London.
